Welcome to IFK Göteborg
It is with pride and joy that we present IFK Göteborg. Those who were present at the historical evening of the 4th October 1904 planted a seed that has blossomed into a large and vigorous organization. Our founders would feel great joy if they could see our organization today and everything that has happened to it, all the active members and leaders who in a continuous and solid fashion built and continue to build our organization. It is their contribution that has made it possible for our organization to live, grow and achieve success.
Without all these contributions that take place in the quiet of everyday life, our club would not exist. It is this work that has built our organization. We can see this idea as a thread running through the entire history of IFK Göteborg. Today’s generation feel an enormous gratitude for the work of earlier generations but also a great responsibility to keep the legacy going. Not only for athletic success but also so that we can function as an organization where solidarity and friendship comes first.
A friendship that continues even after one is no longer active in the club. This is the true essence of sport, and the message we wish to convey. It is the legacy we wish to pass on to the youth in our club, and all other members, who make IFK Göteborg what it is today: a feeling of responsibility for doing one’s part, but also for helping and supporting fellow members, both inside and outside of the sports arena.
If you can share in these ideals then you will become a friend among friends, and our club can live on. Then we can lead our IFK Göteborg to new victories.
